Poetry

Prince Nereid is my poetic voice — a space where I explore emotion, faith, identity, romance, and the quiet pull of the ocean and nature through a more intimate lens. While my film work often leans into comedy and external chaos, my poetry turns inward, focusing on stillness, depth, intimacy, and honesty.

Rain

I grew up dancing in the rain naked in my undies and unafraid belching to the tunes of Mary Poppins uninhibited free from constraint surrounded by grandma's and great grandma's telling folktales by moonlight laughing in the night as we gaze at the stars with the torch of the candlelight only as we grew up were we told to leave behind our imagination wear clothes shoes and be afraid conform and unlearn freedom wear a mask and become the caged consciousness the monotony of society bores me to sleep tomorrow i shall wake up wear my undies and run out naked in the rain

Lamentations

This is the beginning of my Lamentation. My mind really could be a Limitation. My prayers become my Manifestation. Which is why I needed Accommodation. The crucifixion of Jesus became the world’s Resuscitation. Marriage to two becomes one. Thus, it is the Beautification. I look at Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden; their lives was no Gentrification. If I make a covenant to another, an idol that isn't the Holy Spirit. That's sorcery. It is a form of Divination. Oh look upon my heavenly father. He's the ultimate Multiplication. Giving the seed to Abraham, I became an addition to His Glorification. Shedding my flesh to the tomb, my baptism became my Adoration. Oh hear the angels sing, they blow their trumpets and cry in Celebration. Because the devil could not hold a fiery Jubilation. For my glorious Father accepted my Sacrification. What was my sacrification you ask? My heart. My brokenness My deceit My anger. My temper. And my hatred for human Characterization. When the world goes to sleep, I soak my pillows with weeping because I'm boxed in a mental Denomination. Caged in a world full of shrieking, there's no Justification. I almost left a suicidal Notification. The rains could tell, i had no Motivation, Tears after tears. Shriek after shriek. Pain after pain, My God had enough. He put me to sleep. Awoke in a vision. He said, "My child, you are my greatest Elevation. Wipe your tears. Take the sword. Put on the armor of the Most High God. Looking at the greenery, staring at the lions that lay next to me, He said, This is your Generation." I opened my eyes away from the vision. I hear the words: I am marked by God for a divine purpose that will soon be revealed. The dawn of the sun couldn't stop my groans. I sped through layers of Elimination. Sitting with the Word, the greats went through a process of Transformation. Slide unto the passenger seat let me give you a rerun to Beat. Poor Moses. Tongue tied Moses. He really was in a state of Confusion. The jack of all slaves, Joseph, really dreamt himself into a sweeping Nation. Prayer warrior David could bring the heavens down with one Salutation. Wait for it. The great Daniel could not be caged. He was the Beast of all Nation. Most times, the Word confuses me. I ask God, to give me knowledge of the whole Equation. My eyes and my ears become a womb for Consecration. Who am I to deny myself when I fall into Temptation. Carrying my sinful cross, I choose to die daily to elevate my Salvation. Because on that day I want to walk through the heavenly Gates- not stare at the front of the enemy's Gates. Through my trials and my tribulations, through my doubts and Frustrations. I turn around in the darkened cloud. Surely this has been a fruitful journey of spiritual Transformation. Knees bent. Heads bowed. Holy ground. Put this in the books of Revelation.
